With an onslaught of changes on the ice and behind the bench for the Owen Sound Attack, the anticipation of seeing this new team on the ice for the regular season has been palpable. The new look bears kicked things off with a win on the road in Kitchener, putting a damper on the Rangers Memorial Cup celebrations. When the Rangers hit the Bayshore Saturday they were clearly motivated to return the favour in front of the hometown crowd.
These are the early days of the season but new Head Coach Keenan Reynolds will be looking for more from his lineup quickly. Attack fans have already seen why the organization pursued Ryerson Leenders and why Pierce Mbuyi continues to wear the C.
There’s no time to rest with the Attack facing London Friday night and then returning to the Bayshore to face the Memorial Cup hosts Guelph Storm on Saturday. Those two upcoming games might be a better indication of where this early season team stands with Elliott Arnett returning from Tampa Bay Lightning camp, Lucian Bernat returning from Vancouver Canucks camp and Harry Nansi returning from Toronto Maple Leafs camp, it will be the first time we see the complete lineup.

In two games, Ryerson Leenders has shown himself to be every bit the talented OHL goalie we had heard he was. Leenders is quick, sharp and feisty. A combo Attack fans are quickly growing to love.

Jace Voortman’s work ethic has already made him a stand out first year player on this team.

OJHL goaltender of the year last season.

The culture of this team is already on full display.
