It’s Hockey Fights Cancer weekend and the Attack are hosting the red hot Kitchener Rangers at the Bayshore on Saturday in a rare 4 p.m. matchup. They then head to face the Oshawa Generals on Sunday in an equally as rare dinner time matchup at 6:05 p.m. Here are a few things to keep an eye on this weekend.
Hockey Fights Cancer
Your entire Attack roster will be decked out in purple custom jerseys for Hockey Fights Cancer night on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Bayshore. These jerseys are always really cool and you can add one to your collection by jumping on the online auction right here to place your bid until Sunday at 6 p.m. There will also be a silent auction, puck toss, bucket pass and other fundraising opportunities throughout the game.

Rematch with the Rangers
It’s our third matchup of the season against the Kitchener Rangers and the Attack will be looking to take the win and break the 1-1 stalemate the two are currently in. But it won’t be easy. The Rangers now have the top four players in league points with Carson Rehkopf (#16), Hunter Brzustewicz (#4) , Adrian Misaljevic (#10) and Matthew Sop (#91). Rehkopf also leads league scoring with 12 goals on the season. To add to that already powerful offence, Filip Mesar makes his return to the lineup after being returned by the Montreal Canadiens. The Attack will be up for the challenge with their own arsenal of goal scorers spread across the lineup. Deni Goure continues to lead the team with 12 points and 6 goals so far this season. The Rangers are 8-3-0 for the season so far while the Attack enter the weekend with a 4-5-1 record.
New lids for Votary and George
Keep an eye on Corbin Votary and Carter George this weekend who are both sporting fresh new Attack paint jobs on their goalie masks. That won’t be all folks are watching with some tough decisions being made on who gets the start at home and on the road this weekend. With Carter’s success against the Rangers and his position in the OHL goalie stats (3rd in GAA with 2.09 and 4th in save percentage with 0.930), he may get the start against the Rangers at home on Saturday with Votary taking the stage on Sunday in Oshawa.
A full week with Rumble

With a full week of practices finished under Interim Head Coach Darren Rumble and Assistant Coach Sean Teakle’s direction, the Attack will be looking for a strong weekend to right the ship. The team took part in some team building activities off the ice that combined both bowling and horses. Here’s hoping that translates into some magic on the ice.
Road trip to the ‘Shwa
The Attack head to Oshawa on Sunday to face the Generals who are 5-5-0 on the season so far. Dylan Roobroeck (#25) leads the team with 10 points as a strong playmaker with 2 goals and 8 assists. Their scoring leader is Matthew Buckley (#11) with 6 goals.
Missing in action
The Attack will find themselves without #16 Jake Crawford (2 games/returns Nov. 1)) and James Petrovski (5 games/returns Oct. 29) in the lineup this weekend.
It’s been about a month since the launch of this blog and we’re hoping you’re loving the interviews so far. Be sure to go back and read what you’ve missed if you just landed here for the first time.
